The Quay Cafe
Our Food

The Quay Cafe is a family run “Good Food” Award winning establishment. We provide an exciting lunch-time menu with daily Chef’s Specials based on the day’s freshly caught fish or game, and other locally sourced produce. To accompany your meal we have a range of O’Hanlon’s prize winning beers, Luscombe organic cider and Camel Valley Gold Medal wines.

Autumn Taste of the West Specials

Fremington Quay CafeWe are now using the new season’s game - our menus change daily but some of our favourites will be:

  • Roast Partridge with Wild Mushrooms and Autumn Greens
  • Gamekeeper’s Pie
  • Pheasant and Chestnut Casserole
  • Braised Venison in Red Wine with Caramelised Shallots

We are also serving salt marsh lamb from the farm next door and our fisherman will be catching what he can daily - look out for our fantastic sea bass!

Our fabulous smoked salmon and the old favourite blanchbait (also known as whitebait) are still on the menu. It’s the season for comforting puddings - Sue will be making a daily special with whatever is local and seasonal.

Sadly, our famous mussels will be unavailable this season - due to too much rain this summer the mussel beds are out of circulation.

Please note - The Quay Cafe will not be offering “Festive Fayre” at Christmas 2009, and will be a haven for those who wish to escape the Christmas hype. All our normal daily menus will continue to be available.
